Very funny you guys.
On days that I
actually blog, you don’t even bother to lift your dainty fingers and leave a
comment, or even half a comment.
One Toshiba Portégé Z830 Ultrabook giveaway contest and then I get 30 comments within 5 days.
Somehow this paragraph
gave me Déjà vu, I’ve written about this a long time ago before.
Then again, it is a
pretty neat giveaway. We all know how expensive a good pair of in-ear earphones
can be.
Here are some of the
creative answers I’ve received over the past week that I thought’s worth
sharing here.
My #toshibaultrabook wakes up faster than when i wakes up from a scary nightmare.
My #toshibaultrabook wakes up faster than an object accelerating from 0-100km/h in free fall (2.83 seconds). It is also faster than Lamborghini, Bugatti, Ferrari and Porsches' acceleration times from 0-100km/h. Talk about speed! =D
I LOL-ed at this one.
Simply because it’s so GEEKY!
My #toshibaultrabook wakes up faster than Garfield when he smells lasagna. :D
I disagree, I think Garfield wakes
up faster, lol.
But then it’s a fiction character
we’re talking about here.
Surprisingly most of the answers
are ‘wakes up faster than…” instead of “lighter than…”.
There are also answers that were
seriously too ridiculous, in a funny way.
Here’s one.
My #toshibaultrabook is lighter than my eyelash extensions. :p
It’s either your
eyelash extensions weighs 600grams on each eye, or we’re not talking about a
laptop here. Lol
Good try.
In the meantime, I
would like to highlight an answer that speaks volume of truth.
My #toshibaultrabook wakes up faster than Nicole Tan
LOLOL. This cannot be truer.
No wait, that’s not fair. Even my
pencil wakes up faster than me.
Pencil is an inanimate object, you
say? Exactly.
Since I can only announce ONE
winner, and there are so many creative answers I’ve received…
Don’t hit me if you didn’t win,
okay?
I shield myself with my Toshiba Portégé Z830 Ultrabook.
Very sturdy one, excuse me? Made
from Magnesium alloy with a honeycomb rib structure.
*nice
plug* #selfabsorbed
And the WINNER is….
THE FREE FALL GUY!
You know, as in the
one with the geeky free fall comment.
Sorry I don’t know
your name, so I guess I have to call you… ksay9pyo@nottingham.edu.my
Before I end the
stories of my great adventure with the #toshibaultrabook in this blog, it’s
been a month I’ve been using this, I emphasize, AMAZING laptop which I’ve come
to adore and love;
you know that’s a big
deal because I already have a desktop at home which I use whenever I’m AT home,
and to get me to really like using a laptop says a lot.
I find it such a
pleasure to just snatch it up and bring it for a weekend getaway,
Girls trip, will blog about this soon. ;)
to Langkawi, to
Melaka, to a week-long holiday in Philippines or a three weeks journey in India
because it’s so light (1.12kg) it’s not
a hassle at all. And it’s always
convenient to have a computer around, be it for a quick internet access or
uploading photos from cameras into it.
It’s thin (15.9mm),
sturdy enough to withstand my rough-handling during my journey
(trust me, I broke a
laptop once because I was lugging it around a little too much too often all
over the world)
and extremely light,
it’s just like bringing an extra book in my backpack to read, minus the
thickness. Not to mention a hardcore battery life (7 hours).
Perfect concoction for
a travel laptop.
I definitely will be
having more adventures with my Ultrabook, which will occasionally, or not, by
accident, appear on the many travel photos to come. Lucky laptop.
In the meantime,
here’s a photo of my favourite past time with my Toshiba
Portégé Z830 Ultrabook at home.
Xoxo.

"888"
Acrylic on Canvas
3x 8"x24"
What do you think?
Yes this artist is still alive and kicking and active. In case you haven't been seeing any new paintings appearing on my blog lately, doesn't mean I haven't been painting.
I was commissioned this piece over the CNY and had just delivered the painting to the buyer last week, or was it two weeks ago?
I had the permission to publish this so I did.
I was going to name it "Sandwich" but then I thought a more generic name would seem fit since the buyer was buying it for a new home. Good for him.
So I decided to call it "888" and may the new home bring him more prosperity and luck, and money. :)
If you're interested to commission a piece with me. Please send an enquiry to nicootan@gmail.com for a quotation.

As the random as the title sounds, yes, this is the post that consists of my past instragram photos.
Apparently it's becoming popular these days because bloggers are getting lazier and lazier to blog, uprise the use of camera phones. Yay~
A car from Bon Ton restaurant in Langkawi
Since this photo has been taken, I have dined at Bon Ton a couple more times and loved every single visit. The 200 over cats all over the resort and restaurants, the wonderful steak, and the serene kampung style ambience.
It has almost become a must-visit every time I make a trip to Langkawi. 'Almost', because I didn't want to ruin it so I decided to skip going there on my last visit last month with my girls.
Sunset view.
lip-biting look.
I spotted my first love (that first bottle of wine) in a duty free shop in Langkawi. First loveS...
All four of them.
Saw this painting in the Galeria, still talking about Langkawi, and totally fell in love with it.
RM10,000 worth.
If I could, I would. It would look so nice in my bedroom. Le sigh~
Trying to capture the real color of flash-side-snapping with my phone.
Lastly, the customary camwhore photos on the bed.
Sometimes I love the effect of a filter so much I get torned between choosing a non filter photo and one with filter. Damn instagram for making life difficult. SO MANY FILTERS!
This is without any filter.
This is with filter.
What do you prefer in your own photos? Filter, or no?

Note: There’s a giveaway at the end of the post. It’s a very cool gift and very easy to win. All you need to do is comment. Considering I don’t normally receive comments, you’ll probably stand a good chance. Haha.
I’m not the typical traveller where I leave all my gadgetry back home when I leave for another country, I thrive on my phone and iPod and laptop.
Yes, I bring my laptop everywhere I go, despite having to carry a heavy backpack around; which, frankly, could be a pain most of the times.
Don’t judge, you have your peeving quirks; I have mine. And I can’t live without my trusty notebook whenever I’m away from home; mainly because I dislike typing on anything else other than one.
Typing away in our rented Innova while our driver drove on
This trip to India, I brought my new Ultrabook with me – the Toshiba Portégé Z830 Ultrabook; which is only 1.12kg light! It’s so insanely light even my novel is heavier than my laptop. I love it to the max.
I love the keyboards, love the fact it’s fast, love that it starts up fast (2 seconds from sleep) and has a really sustaining battery life (I left it on sleeping mode for seven days while on the road in India only to realize I forgot to switch it off, when I flipped open the lid, the laptop has still 6% of battery left! Amazing!); and I’m not just saying this because it’s a sponsorship; the Toshiba Portégé Z830 Ultrabook is definitely, by far, the best laptop I’ve ever owned.
I know, that’s a really big claim to have, but it’s true. Priced at RM4700++, you get a lean mean machine; I thought it’s definitely a JOY to have, given the fact that I’m still very much a Windows fan.
What’s your favourite laptop to travel with?
Will you ever consider the Toshiba Portégé Z830 Ultrabook?

A Giveaway on Nicolekiss!
That’s right, this week I have a neat giveaway from Toshiba.
First let’s look at this week’s challenge video.
Please watch the video, I looked the best in this video. LOL
In this challenge we have the Q&A Challenge where we have to guess which of the two items (a random object and the Toshiba Ultrabook) is heavier.
The super kiasu me at the guessing game.
The game was more difficult than I thought, so many things that were surprisingly heavier than the Toshiba Portégé Z830 Ultrabook which was 1.12kg, whenever I doubted myself I just guessed the Ultrabook being lighter, lol #cheatmax
Before game – serious face
Same answer, who’s faster?!
Different answer, hah. I win!
Mind over matters, baby.
LOOKIE MY NAME! Got a crown drawn on it somemore!
YES I’m the WINNER!
As for the giveaway, only for this week, I am giving away a pair of Toshiba Compact In-Ear Earphones EM1 on Nicolekiss.blogspot.com.
And it’s very easy to join. Just write in the comments section below:
My #toshibaultrabook is lighter than__________. OR
My #toshibaultrabook wakes up faster than ______.
Don’t forget to also write your email address alongside your answer.
The most creative or unexpected answer (that I read) will get it. IT’S THAT EASY!
*Only open to Malaysians. Ends 26th April.

I can't sleep. So decided to post some photos I just downloaded from my phone.
Most of which already posted on Instagram 'nicootan'.
Some pics of me in my favourite Chanel earrings. Also I was trying out a more refreshing way to apply make-up. Not my usual colors but it turned out well.
The day I decided to go centre-parting. Yes, still on-going hairstyle for me.
I tend to stick to one hair style for a very long time, partly lazy partly terrified of change, especially when it comes to hair.
The results turned out better than I expected so I stuck with it.
What do you think? Centre parting is good, no?

Got back from a weekend of fun and sun with the girls in Langkawi.
Sunset yacht sailing with lots of bikinis shots, good food, lots of booze and great fun out at sea.
I went for my second jet skiing in Langkawi on this trip, went faster than the previous time because had a lighter passenger with me. :p
Here's some photos of Lyon and Lyon's night market right before Christmas.
Foie Gras and lobster ❤
French pastries never fails to impress me
Lyon's famous ferries wheel
Christmas Night Market
Christmas pottery!
these will burn a little hole in your wallet
red cured/dried meat galore
I loved these. Mulled wines, basically heated wines to be drank on cold winter days. It's fabulous!
It warms your body almost instantly, and works better than hot cocoa or coffee by a mile's run.
my host, wee pin, and her mulled wine
sharing mine with santa
seemingly dodgy Christmas tree in a dodgy town (I said 'seemingly', Lyonis don't get offended)
Woke up the next day to this view outside the room.
SNOW!! Abundance of them!
It was gonna be a white Christmas!
