Sand Writing Cards

Anything can be made into a business.

It's just depending on how creative one's mind is.

I walked through a bazaar in Gold Coast and came across this.

good day sand writing

A personalized sand writing greeting card!

How creative is that?

It requires no cost! And it's uber romantic!

I can't remember how much was it to write something like this? I remember that it requires at least one waiting day, and then possibly cost around AUD15 - 25 per card.

engagement sand writing

love you dad sand writing

I like how they have little things to decorate the sand, like small flowers or shells.

To make it even more long lasting, they even made the photos into small fridge magnets for those who wants to make this a long lasting memory.

Seriously, nothing can be a more personalized gift than this.

I so totally love these!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Anyway, I've done up two Gold Coast wallpapers for a reader who specially requested for it. ;)

Tallest Residential Building in the World

So I went back to Gold Coast for my final stop before I flew back to Malaysia. Finally, I was getting restless to be honest, and I couldn't wait for my move to Thailand after my Australia trip.

This time I met up with Jon, a charming 18 year old that looked like a 21 with a quirky childish and funny personality.

jon and dim sum

We took a drive to the pier to feel the chilly wind and watch the sunset.

sunset at pier

golden sunset

me standing at the pier

Saw some people caught octopus with fishing rod, which was a first, for me and them.

octopus fishing

It was pretty cool until they took a knife out and sliced the octopus in half cause it was sticking everywhere.

sitting at the pier

Gold Coast was a great place to do any sort of water activities, one of the most intriguing (at least to me) water sport was wind surfing,

wind surfing

if not for the weather, I would have been the first in line (and probably the only one) to run down the beach and ask those beach hunks to teach me how to wind surf on the spot!

wind surfers

(I told myself back then: If I ever had the chance in the future, I am so going to pick up wind surfing, after snowboarding)

Anyway, I am going to write about this building that Jon took me, which was supposed to be iconic in Gold Coast. Most people who've been here would know about Q Deck, but I supposed not all has been up there before.

q deck

What I liked about this building was that it claimed to be the World's Tallest Residential Building.

q deck building

world tallest buildings

The claim, in my opinion, was really priceless. I mean, it's funny how people can find almost any statement just to sell. Like how Malaysia claimed our twin tower to be the World's Tallest Twin Towers, like duh, how many really tall twin towers you can find out there anyway.

dusk in gold coast

You know what? I bet any randomly picked millionaire can build his own World's Tallest Decaplets Residential Pink Towers, nay, make it easier, Pink Polka Dot Houses.

Which could could be what? Made of 2-storeys? Heck I can even create my very own world record which consists of toothpicks and dog's fur.

That day I was at the Perth's airport and I saw the duty free claiming itself to be Perth's Largest Tax Free Shopping Destination at the duty free area. HA HA. Like they have a lot of competitions to start with anyway. -.-

Ciken I can even claim to have the biggest man-made chocolate pool in Melaka, which could be the smallest pool you've ever seen. Just let me find a really big laundry pail.

Ok, enough being mean.

It's still pretty impressive. *though it doesn't look that tall to me* *cough*

q deck and petronas comparison

But I have to give full credit to its lift, which claimed to be one of the world's fastest lifts, and I was really impressed/shocked by the speed the lift was able to go up.

two tickets to Q Deck
First we got two tickets.

floor 1
Then we got in the lift

The speed of the lift was so fast that even the camera couldn't capture the number on the display screen in time.

floor 7
7? 8?

The number was increasing ever so fiercely speedy it was impossible to catch just one number at a time.

floor 17
17? 18?

And then we were on the 77th floor in a jiff.

View of Gold Coast atop was beautiful.

coast line 2

Well, surfer's paradise to be exact. (it's the name of a place in gold coast if you think surfer's paradise is a metaphor here)

beautiful gold coast

I like the fact that the city was so close to the sea, side by side, next to each other, civilization versus nature.

beautiful coast line

But my favourite photo of all is this.

sea, river and city
to get wallpaper size, go to this entry.

Sea, city, river.

See how close the river is to the sea. Fresh versus salt water. It's amazing. The landscape despite civilization was simply amazing.

Anyway, sunset at Q Deck was also a spectacular scene.

Some random facts from Q Deck.

Do you know Wellington is only 2500 over kms away from the building?

Start driving and swimming now, you might just reach it before the year end.

And also, I am going to show you a photo of me from when I was 17. It's completely hideous and geeky.
So brace yourself.

unisa student card

*bangga* Legitimate student from Unisa ok!
I know I know, I look weird, and innocent, and nerdy. I heard that a million times.

We stayed on Q Deck till it was dark, had some cakes and drinks while at it so we could take night photos of Gold Coast.

There you go.

Beautiful isn't it?

The next day I missed my flight back to Malaysia. T_T

Panicked for a day thinking I was going to end up being an illegal immigrant for good.

Then was relieved when I had friends (including Jon) who helped me out of the country. :D

Good friends are hard to come by. *sniff*

So I paid AUD700+ to get my sorry ass one way out from Gold Coast two days later.
*ouch*

New Chipster Cool Contest!

Have you seen the new Chipster in town?

chipsters on shelf

The first time I saw it I didn’t bring any cash with me, but I bought a packet anyway (can only afford one with the coins I have) so try.

Sadly to say I left it in “someone’s” car and that “someone” in the end ate my brand new flavor Chipster. :(

So a week ago I bought four.

four packs of chipsters

Take that! Hmph, no one go eating my Chipster without telling me.

This gives me a good reason to participate and also introduce to you a new game from Chipster. (They always have very cool games, I also realized their marketing skill is crazily amazing!)

chipster webpage

This time instead of the cartoon genie girl (well, she’s still there), Chipster got Ean and JJ to be the spokesperson for this campaign!

My two favourite DJs on my favourite breakfast show! (yes yes we all know we miss Rudy, but Ean is adorable! He always gets bullied by JJ, lol)

JJs
JJ so cute!

ean in girl dress
Why is Ean the damsel in distress? (see what I mean, always get bullied, lol)
(Go watch the video, it’s the coolest!)

This is how the contest works.

First you go to this site and join as a member.

If you’re already a member, just sign in with your account and select “Direct A Movie Now!”.

Choose a theme then upload photos of your face and your friend’s so you can “act” as the casts in the film!

me and shawn as casts

I know. We look absolutely stunning! (and cute!! ^^) Haha, sorry la Shawn, you have to be the ke-le-fe.

Then you write the script.

scripting

This must be the easiest script to write in the world for a “movie”.
I can already imagine what I am going to write in the last box, and it’s “WTF?”

Then save your title and save and submit!

Oh yea… forgot one thing, don’t forget to eat your Chipster, cause you will need the unique code on the Chipster promo pack in order to participate in the contest. :D
Submission date between now till 12pm of 8th June 2009.

For the sake of free things, join the fun and direct your own videos.
What do you think of mine?

I’m so wanna win! They’re giving out MacBook Air!!!!!!!!

Submit your video now too!

ps// Grand Prize and first prize winner will also get to be featured in the finale movie on TV3.

If you must know, kangaroo, wallaby and the Tasmanian devil are all under the Marsupial family. And they're Australia's most iconic animals.

tasmanian devil notice

Firstly because they're everywhere, other than Tasmanian devils because they're mostly found in Tasmania and was populating the place like rats to sewers until a plague years ago which nearly wiped them to extinction.

tasmanian devil

Despite their stereotypes from Looney Tunes, the Tasmanian Devils are really cute animals that made a lot of noisy sounds and are really timid. Scare them once and they'll run away. LOL.

As for wallabies, they're just plain adorable.

Australia Zoo - Steve Irwin Legacy

Short Note: Left Christchurch, am in Melbourne airport yet again! Awaiting my next flight to Perth in the afternoon. Having 2-hour jet-lag now. ~.~

Do you know, internet wifi in the Melbourne airport arrival hall is free whereas in departure hall it's charged by hour? Now you know.

"Crikey, that alligator is a beau!"

We all heard that line before. The legendary Steve Irwin's most famous overused phrase.

You cannot go to Brisbane without visiting his most impressive legacy ever left behind or built, the Australia Zoo.

Kif and I took a bus and headed straight into the late millionaire crocodile hunter's paradise.

You can see that we're pretty excited.

Everything in the zoo reminded so much of Steve Irwin, even the uniform for all zoo keepers and bus drivers are in the really funky monochrome shirts and khakis.

Of course, somethings kinda just tell it straight to your face how they want to be remembered.

part of the family

Australia Zoo is a very impressive project that spread over 70 acres of land hosting a rich collection of animals.

I heard that in the next 5 years they're going to expand up another 500 acres (o.O) of land for a safari and more large animals.

Some of these animals are kept here because of their unfit condition to return to the wild.

Like this Kookaburra that is unable to fly due to a car accident injury.

I personally thought we need more zoos like this in the world.

*It's actually spelt as born, too lazy to change now. wtf*

Btw, do you how to tell the difference between crocodiles and alligators? Last I heard alligators have longer mouths, but I still can't quite tell the difference in this photo.

Apparently Daisy's an alligator.

And what is visiting Australia without touching a Koala or two. :D

They're so cute!

After that we caught some lunch at the food court, knowing that every single Australia meal we came across were stupendously huge, we shared a meal.

See how big that burger is?!

Half each.

We saw a live interview for an audition for a presenter post in the zoo.

Apparently this girl was trying to make the birds in the cage to fly to four random people from the audience. After all the bird calling test and tricks and getting the participants ready, she opened the cage...

And the birds flew away.

She didn't get the job. o.O

They proceeded to do some crocodile feeding stunts which I thought was pretty cool.

Though we all know we've seen worse in Thailand and Malaysia where people has performed crazy dangerous stunts on crocs and have themselves killed.

Let's move on to something cuter.

When Steve Irwin passed away, people flooded in to pay their respect to the legend of the Australians.

A corner of the corner were reserved for all the words ever left for Steve from around the world.

These words were written in different languages as well.

And the list goes on.

Going through this section was just plainly heart-warming. It made me miss the annoying Crikey so much more.

I know it's kinda late.

But Steve,

We will all miss you.

Tiger Jumping into the Pool Video

Wanted to post this up back when I was in Auckland, but internet was a bitch so didn't manage to upload anything.

But here goes.

Read tiger post here.

Risk it, or risk nothing.

I had a chat with a friend recently. And this was what he typed.

XXX says:
me?
i dunno la..
i dunno wad i wan from this life
its like.. i work previously, i m nt happy...
i work now, i m also not happy...
and i wanna do business... not sufficient fund
and the fear of risking everything...
because i haf too much to risk
so now i m stuck in the middle of no where. not knowing wad is best for me to do rite now

I thought to myself at that point:

He's 25. He just graduated few years ago. He has two jobs since, neither of which he's happy with. He seems to have a stable CV. Average income according to him.

So...

What does he has to risk?

His job? He's not happy in it in the first place.

His income? Not that it's very satisfying at the moment.

Youth? COME ON, 25? As a man?

That's the thing. Many of us walk down this path, because we think that if we were to take the step we always dare to dream of taking, we will forever be dreaming of that what-if.

So money might be an issue. But money only provides stability, life is not about stability, life is risky, being alive is an adventure. Some of us have gone through so much shit in life that when we look back, life isn't life if it's as easy as waking up and falling asleep everyday.

Life is life, because it is uncertain, and we build our certainty on these uncertainties, but we don't stay there, we build more, and more, and so much more till we realise that, well... so this is life.

So what we screw up, hey you want to talk a path that's so straight and boring and wide? Take a hike! Up the mountain, down the muddy puddle, when you fall, there's always a big fat concrete road next to you where you can fall back on.

You experience is your concrete road, and getting back into the workforce is always the basic of all basics. Whenever you want to take a break, go for it. No one said there's an dateline to which you have to reach your goal.

Take your time, an easy stroll, a detour down the flower garden. Enjoy, relax, rejuvenate, then come back.

Life isn't about rationality, since when have you heard people loving rationally? Living a life is like falling in love. Be ready to get hurt, to fall, then to get back up and back in the game, it's that never-ending pursuit, till you find the one, the perfect one, or close to perfection. Why settle for someone you half love, when you know someone out there somehow sometime in the future will show up, whom will sweep you off your feet and blow you away.

You don't just sit there and think that you are satisfied just because you are afraid of getting hurt, that is not love! nor life! Do yourself a favour, do your heart (and your partner's) a favour, and get out there and trip!

I have been contemplating so much in my life what I should do or what I shouldn't do. And I know I worry too much, that everything will just turn out in the end the way they should always do. Why worry, when I can pursue, when I have the choice to pursue. How many out there are not blessed with a choice, what insane mind I have to even think I should be taking so many steps back when I have the choice to take a step forward.

The conversation strikes me. What have I got to lose?

Realistically, what in life that can be so tragically important or life-threatening that I cannot afford risking/losing?

Many elements in life are deem as a "risk" because we are so defined by society's stringent expectations. Achieve young, stable income, retire early, own properties, be insured, etc.

So yes there are always limitations, there's always financial security as one ages, commitment and responsibilities. But, at the same time, there is always a choice. And reasoning with yourself is the first thing that would stop you from taking every step ahead. Balance, priority, and choice.

Just ask yourself: "Why not...", "How I can...", "oh what the hell...".

Remember, it's always a choice.

First it gets foggy, then it gets colder.

I survived 3 years without constant internet!!!! OMG!!!!

wait, maybe that was 3 days?
or was it 2 days?
ermmm.....

Nvm.

Anyway~~ I have left lovely Malborough and hit Christchurch town two hours ago!
Guess how I got here?! Guess guess guess.

Hehe....

You'll never guess.

I hitched a ride down. Ho Ho Ho~!

With this really lovely senior Swedish couple and their rented Ford Focus whom I met last night at the lodge I stayed, and they even offered me free dinner (they were cooking, I was having chips and wine for dinner, a bloke's meal they call it)

Then they brought me on a detour to Kaikoura to see some seals and have lunch before continuing the trip down to Christchurch! Wow, free roadtrip! It was REALLY foggy in Kaikoura though.

I must be a really lucky solo traveler.

Yesterday I rented a bicycle to cycle the wine trail drawn out of my friendly lodge's owner,

me in my cool helmet

and after visiting two wineries, I decided to stop by this really fancy and expensive restaurant/winery for my first meal of the day.

There I met these two super friendly and uber nice Australian couple who were sitting next to me. They saw me alone there so they chatted me up. After 10 mins, I was invited to be seated at their table to dine with them. How nice!

After lunch, they asked me to join them in their car to visit the rest of the wineries.

Cycling? or sit in a comfy car being driven around with two lovely Australians?

Like duh!

So we went around drinking as much wine as we could. I try not to take in so much as I would still need to cycle back later. (left my bike at the bistro, hehe)

As a teaser post about my trip in beautiful New Zealand, here's something I would like to share with everyone from Malborough.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

I have no wireless internet nor phone access!

So I have left Wellington, took the ferry across the sea, hit picton, changed onto a shuttle and now stranded in the middle of no where of the beautiful Malborough wine country.

There are no wireless internet here and I am paying 2 dollars per 20 mins to go online to update this short post and check on a few things. Yup.

So I guess I won't be using much of the internet till I hit Christchurch two days later.

Ride on the ferry was splendid, it's more luxurious than I anticipated, for NZD55 one day, sitting around the lounge area with plenty of room to run around and bar and cafe that served good food and wine. WINE! Ho ho, I love this country. The ride took about 3 hours 20 mins, it was pretty relaxing, didn't regret choosing it over plane. If given the chance, I'll definitely ride the ferry again. Oh, I boarded bluebridge btw.

Oh, and I found out the New Zealand subway do taste better than Malaysia! Like a lot better. Okay, maybe that someone who told me was actually indicating about Australian Subway, but they're pratically the same aight?

I didn't get a car in the end, why? Two reasons. I tried to book it online last night but on the last few minute, the dates I was eyeing on were booked by someone else?! Suddenly it became unavailable. I can't book it a day later even! So I guess I have no choice but to stick to bicycle tomorrow. It's good excuse to give myself some exercise. Gonna get some bottles back tomorrow and drink it in my lodge's lounge and watch New Zealand Next Top Model on chanel 3. :D

Oh the other reason was also an excuse. Since I'm no longer renting a car, I saved some moolah so I decided to splurge on some items for my family. He he he.. guess what? I got a Gucci leather jacket for my dad. Brother, if you're reading this, don't tell mom or dad k? It's supposed to be a surprise. :D

The depressing part is that the phone in this lodge got fried and they sent it for repair. So I can't "boil" phone calls with my family and love one back home. :( :( It's going to be a lonely night.

Hope it's not cold tomorrow, I don't want to be riding in the chilly wind. T_T

Anyway, have to go now. 20 mins almost up. Gotta check a few things before I log out. :D

Left Auckland, Arrived in Wellington.

I am now in Windy Welly (Wellington), lying on my double bed in one of the most famous beachside lodge in the suburb area.

Going to head to town soon after washing up but not before settling my transport for tomorrow to cross the sea from north island into south.

Traveling alone has been a thrill, but my heart doesn't seem to be here, despite the beautiful sea, the comfy bed, the nice people, I feel my heart should be back home, back where my love is.

Internet here is expensive, like really really expensive. Everything is charged by either per MB or per hour which can ranged from NZD 4 to 8. Last night I downloaded a zip folder of photos my friend sent me, and that email alone already cost me 4.1MB, that's like RM1. It can be assumed that if one is not careful, one can easily spend up to RM50 on a 10 min video call.

Hence my lack of updates and will be for so, lack of photo this entry. (ok, I mean no photo on this entry)

It's getting colder as I moved further south, I look forward to the wine trail experience in Malbourough wine country. Then maybe slowly move down to Christchurch, either by car, or... well... I was just thinking of car. Train seems rather boring at this point. But I hate driving though, urgh.

Last night I have to fill up two hot water bottles provided to heat my bed, despite a small radiator, I was feeling rather chilly in my empty room. My things are now scattered everywhere on my bed and on the floor, god I'm such a messy person. Cookie (my teddy) is sitting my lap watching me type away on the brightening screen in this dark room, ermm, which reminds me, I should draw the curtain, it's almost noon now but it still feels like early morning in this room.

It's more than a week away till I fly back to Malaysia. I really can't wait, but at the same time, I feel like I want to stay longer so I can experience more of that this country can offer. However, it is impossible to do that when your heart is not here.

Alright, time for shower, freshen up, change, buy my ferry ticket and head out to town. Yup.

Ciao.

Australia Zoo - Tiger Temple

Okay, so this is the real tiger temple.

In this post, not only you will see real tigers.

You will see them swim!

You will also see them hang out with human! Like friends!!

chilling out with tiger

I suppose one of the most memorable trip during my Brisbane stay was visiting the Australia Zoo and the highlight of it all was the temple tiger.

I've never seen such magnificent animals at such close proximity and with such energy.
Most tigers I've seen in zoos are either lazing around all day long or sleeping. Pretty boring creatures, I used to think.

But no, not these tigers. These tigers are playful and fun to watch.

Lee Hom Concert (Contest)

Short Note: I have arrived in Auckland. Woo hoo~! Perfumes are cheap here (airport).

The first time I saw Lee Hom I thought to myself,

“Gee, what a normal looking guy” (aka Ugly)

20071231722513051

Just when the girl friend sitting next to me was squealing in complete admiration how insanely handsome he is and how wonderfully talented he is.

I thought again:” Man, love is blind.”

It’s been years since my first discreet thought-to-self, and Lee Hom has proven himself to be more worthy a talented singer/performer than any artist you see these days on tv.

He can play so many instruments it’s hard to even keep up to the number of instruments he masters.

The four time Golden Melody Award winner has more than 25 albums under his wings and sold more than 15 million records.

Lee Hom has won so many awards he should receive the “most awards received” award.

And then I thought to myself.
“Maybe he is rather good looking afterall.”

Hey, what can be more attractive than an intelligent, talented young man? ;)

Now I know why Lee Hom fans are so crazy over him. And why my friend Chris is so gay about him despite his heterosexuality. :p

Jot this date and venue down: 2 May 2009 | 8pm | National Stadium, Bukit Jalil

Lee Hom is bringing his talent and his hotness to KL in the Music-Man Live.

I Hung Out With Tigers

Short Note: Happy Easter Everyone!

I think I heard some people swearing and fighting outside. What a nice way to celebrate.

When I was in Brisbane, I visited the zoo and there was this tiger temple.

tiger temple

Like the one in Thailand. An exact replica.

And guess what. There were A LOT OF TIGERS! No joke.

And I played with all of them. Yes, I was among the tigers, like a monk living among these carnivorous creatures.

Man I was brave. You should applaud me for my act. I should be so proud of myself. *shed tears of pride*

Be prepared for what you are about to see. What I am going to show you is a sea of tigers (is that even the right description?). They're so many of them one would have the guts of Hercules to mingle among them.

.... Be afraid, be very afraid.

Brisbane - A Day Tour

So I left Hunter with Kif the driver and move into Newscastle, stayed a night and flew to Brisbane the next day.

hunter valley to brisbane

We met up with William, my lovely Brisbane reader.

William is one of the greatest guy you can ever meet in your life, he's a devoted Christian and does his church work hard, he participate in a lot of volunteer work and a lovely social person to be with. He reminds me of those people whose heart is made of pure gold, and shines like a beacon once you get to know him.

me and william on citycat
Apparently that's the only photo I have of him while I was there -.-. I'm on Citycat btw.

The first night we arrived, William and his friend greeted us at the airport and brought us out for seafood platter at a take away cafe, then up to Mount Cootha before we retire for the night.

Mount Cootha beautiful brisbane night view

Lovely view of Brisbane ain't it? :D
It was bloody cold and windy up there. :(

The next morning William took Kif and me out for a day walk in the city.

Brisbane is like this modern metropolitan city with a rural life, a cross of metropolitan and the countryside.

railway bridge
the railway bridge

Despite it's beautiful and new architecture, Brisbane people is living a slow-paced life. Reminds me of almost of Adelaide really.

William Jolly Bridge
William Jolly Bridge - William called this his bridge. -.-

We took a stroll down the South Bank (not the vulgar cartoon Southpark), and wondered why do they need an artificial beach in the city when Gold Coast is just an hour drive away. Or two?

articifial beach

But it was a lovely modern looking park anyway. That's the thing, everything and everywhere in Brisbane looks incredibly modern and new. It just didn't fit the lifestyle the people are living here.

Across the river I spotted a citycat and decided to make this a wallpaper.

We hopped onto the Citycat and cruise down the river - well to the other side of the city.

Nice right this shot? Should I put it as wallpaper too?

I think it was a sunday so practically everything's closed. So by the time I had an early dinner, I walked back to my accomodation (or William's place). William has gone off meeting his church friends and Kif was staying over at his friend's.

Walking alone in the dark I spotted a nocturnal creature in the nearby neighbourhood.

Can someone tell me what creature is this?

LG Prada Launch Part 2 - Prada Link

Short Note: I have just landed in Tasmania! Convict town of the 1800s.
It kinda reminds me a bit of Holland by the sea, and a bit of England in the 1800s.

Continue Part 1.

So I had my eye lash and color contacts on

It's time to attend the LG Prada launch.

Now I can be honest and tell you I don't know much about gadgets, not about their functions or what they can or can't do. I won't lie to you.

But I enjoy having techy gadgets around. I like features in the phones (that I'm familiar with) that are able to help me to complete my daily routines and internet dosage. Such as wifi, touch screen, 3G, MMS, video, good quality camera, bluetooth, etc.

However, I also like having a nice girly fashionable phone. Something sleek, trendy, speaks for itself, and a fashion statement.

LG prada phone

And I can tell you straight, LG Prada phone is a fashion statement *period*

It's sleek, mysterious, dark, and trendy.
And it has 3 inch capacitive touch screen display.

Casey tried using this phone and people would approach him and comment: "wa... Prada o".

We managed to land ourselves a set of this device for a try out. I love the casing of the phone. O btw, I started a new gadget blog called Gizlounge. We wrote a Part 1 of our review on LG Prada - the unboxing.

The other thing that I like about the LG Prada was the Prada Link.

prada catalouge

Yes it's a watch. It's also a phone as well as wrist accessory that links with the phone through bluetooth that enables users to receive and read sms and incoming calls alerts (with vibration).

cool prada link

Hah. Finally, a phone watch combination set!

new prada phone set

Read more review on the technical aspect here - Part 2.

I was actually tempted to get the watch minus the phone just because it looks so trendy. But I think the combination is quite the perfect match. *Imagine using them with my Prada bag :D :D*

Too bad none of us ever receive a free phone though. :( :(

LG Prada Launch Part 1 - St Regis Hotel

Short Note: Yay~ I finished my graduation ceremony yesterday! I'm officially a Master graduate!

Two months ago I was invited to Singapore for the launch of the new LG Prada phone.

mysterious look
Show off my hair.

Anyway, before I moved onto the topic of that, I want to talk about St Regis Hotel. This hotel is almost too good to be true.

It's one of those hotels when I desperately wished I were a business woman and I get sponsored to stay in all these fancy hotels on my business trips. It's so worth being in the corporate world.

bed view in the evening

The only low point during my stay there was I was all alone in the room, the whole vast luxurious room to myself.

room the in evening

I especially loved the toilet, not only because I'd always prefer my shower room to be separated from the bathtub, also because there are two basins and a dressing table installed too.

toilet in the evening

And a TV in front of the bathtub.

bathtub

I was feeling quite the tai-tai (jobless rich wife who sits at home with nothing to do but spend her husband's money).

camwhoring

There's nothing much to the view, but it was rather spectacular when you view out the window of your $800+ (sing dollar) room.

view from my room

I can almost imagine myself sitting on the sofa with my sweetheart sipping wine at night with some good music on.

sofa

Dang. Why did I have the whole room to myself?

me reflecting in the bathroom mirror

I like the many attentions to detail this hotel has.

Like this little modern tech device.

cool hotel phone

I tried calling Kinky Joyce on the device and her name showed up on the screen display.

calling ms joyce wong

Btw, her bathroom is superb!

joyce room bathtub

You can even call for your very own butler of the room to attend to your every need. (except for "that" kind of need, but who knows :p)

They make you feel at home with little welcome letters like these.

invitation to wine taste

oo.. wine tasting. Yum~

They thought well about the little details like the universal plug like this,

universal plug

or the cool surround sound system around the room,

speakers on the ceilings

the butler came in the evening to put on some nice classical songs (or as ringo put it: make love music) to soften the atmosphere.

They even had an actual alarm clock in the hotel room!!

actual alarm clock

Now how often do you see an actual alarm clock beside the bed of your hotel room which you actually know how to operate? (Usually most alarm clocks are set in the in-built lighting system on the desk which you can't be bothered to fiddle around with)

This was way better than a maid-serviced luxurious house.

Why?

The butler even put out a kimono for you in the bathroom for your evening shower. Now how many maid would do that?!

What about a tray of controller for you in case you want to change the mood or light or music in the room.

hotel accessories kit

Jeez Wheez they even have a Pillow Menu!!

pillow menu

"I think I'll have a ploh pillow, or a soft feather pillow. and wth is a buckwheat pillow??"

As if 6 pillows on a single bed weren't enough.

pillow overload

Talk about "too much".

messy bed in the morning

See the soft feather pillow I ordered on my bed? it's the longest one "kiap" between the two top pillows and the bottom one.

Dinner was great, Cheryl from Hill & Knowlton took us out for dinner at Flutes at the Fort.

cheryl
This is Cheryl.

I've never had so much foie gras and scallops in such short few days. Kenny had to help finish half of my foie gras though.

scallops

I even had my first love aka my first bottle of wine which I fell incredibly in love with!

moscato dasti

half bottle Nivole Moscato dAsti from Italy.

wa. my fake eyelashes so dramatic!

Morning came and I did what most fit young beautiful tai-tai would do in the morning after they wake up.

Gym.

pink rebock shoe

I put on my shoes and went downstairs to be greeted by an empty but fully equipped gym. My treadmill even had a bottle of mineral water and a fresh piece of towel hanging for me.

Then it was spa.

st regis spa

OMG did you tell you how good their spa was?

There were sauna, and steam room, and ice fountain, and oh.. outdoor spa too.

And me in bathrobe.

Can I be a tai tai businesswoman tai tai businesswoman rich?

Pillow Fight Day

I like pillows.

They’re soft, feathery, fluffy, and puffy.

When you sink into them, you melt into a paradise of OOZE and AHHH.

messy bed in the morning

Pillows make the macho-est girl gets all cuddly.

It makes the manliest man whimper.

By god it even makes Shawn the Asian Indiana Jones go all girly on bed.

Come to me baby!

Which is what makes Pillow Fight so fun! And cuddly!

me pillow fight

And ferocious.

Don’t take this teddy bear cutesy party lightly.

It’s a war of betrayal, sleek cheekiness and deceit.

gerald pillow fight with i am not here
“Die! Die you!”

You never know when someone you trust with your dear life is going to sneak up on you when you least expected it.

It’s a game of intellect, strategy and good reflex.

Which is why you should anticipate the international pillow fight day on the 2nd April 2009!!

corntozposter

Oh yes, Kuala Lumpur is joining in as well, together with other 60 over cities in the world.

Just imagine,

Okay, it’s actually more like this.

Just reading the facts on the site excites me and saddens me at the same time. Excited because Malaysia is actually organizing such a fun event in KL (which doesn’t happen often here), sad because, damn it, I won’t be in the country to participate!

And the nearest city I could go to to participate is 15 hours drive from here. (Sydney if you want to know, and I’m in Adelaide now)

- The interesting part about this event is that you won’t know the SECRET location of the Pillow Fight Point until the day itself.
- And to know the Pillow Fight Point you have know to go the Gathering Point which will be revealed on the site at 2am on the 2nd of April. Confusing? Yes. Mysteriously fun? Definitely.

Now there will be two team, white and blue, you will be assigned on the day itself by Pillow Fight Police.

The highlight of the event, however, is that you have to bring your own pillow.
*hint hint* If I were you I would probably bring a sand bag
*cough*
But I’m not you so I’m not that evil. Muahaha.

Some of the Rules you might want to know: Never hit someone without a pillow (pretty darn difficult task if you ask me, with all the blinding feathers and smackings in the face).

Street-smart tip: Don’t wear your spectacles.

Final tip:
