First Innisfree Outlet in Malaysia

Famous Korean skincare brand Innisfree has finally set up its first store in Malaysia in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, Klang Valley.

Korea has evolved as a country to produce some of the world best cosmetic and skincare products since the breakthrough of K-Pop and plastic surgery. innisfree translates to "pure island" which implies the origin of ingredients most of their products came from: Jeju Island. From Jeju's volcanic scoria, green tea leaves, green soy beans to tangerine peel, when you step into the store of innisfree in Sunway Pyramid, you feel that you've been guided a tour through the nature of Jeju island.

innisfree 8-solution skin care line:
1. Green Tea Line - Moisturizing
2. Jeju Volcanic Line - Pore Care
3. Eco Science White C Line (using tangerine) - Whitening Care
4. Eco Sciene Line (seaweed) - Wrinkle Care
5. Olive Real Line - Nutrimoisturizing Care
6. Jeju Bija Line - Trouble Care
7. Soybean Firming Line - Firming & Lifting
8. Jeju Orchid Line - Total Care (coming in 2015)

I got two of their best sellers: Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask (OPENING PROMO PRICE! RM52 for a set of their full size clay mask and two travel size pore toner and pore cleanser, while stocks last) and Eco Science Wrinkle Spot Essence worth RM135. And another eye product: Eco Science White C Double Eye Circle Cream, day use with SPF and night (10ml+10ml) worth RM115.

Perhaps their most loved sections in the shop are the mask shelves. Sheet masks priced at RM4 and Capsule Recipe Pack (up to 3 times application) priced at RM10-12 each.

I'll post up the remaining photos to let you have a feel around the shop and what they have to offer.

I'm going for the Sentosa Siloso Beach Party 2014 in Singapore

So my Christmas was pretty boring, I spent most of the day sleeping in. It was like I cramped the whole year's worth of naps into this one day. It was very much needed and if I had the day again, I would do it all over again.

I know it sounded boring, heck, it sounded boring to me were I two years younger. But you cannot even begin to imagine how little break time I have for myself this entire year. Not only were I unable to travel anywhere that's not work related, I had not taken a full day breather with no work on my mind.

Though given that the moment the clock struck midnight after Christmas, I was back on my computer working a straight 6 hours till morning. #fml #fail

To break the chain of the ever lasting busy schedule, I decided to give myself two travel days off. On the last day of the year till the first day of 2015. Nothing like living on the edge eh?

So yep, I'm attending the Sentosa Siloso Beach Party in Singapore.

My first NYE beach party. In my youth I've always wanted to make it to this beach party but travels always got in the way, then it was age and work and commitments. So finally, I'm making it this year! Woot! (provided nothing urgent suddenly pops up *cross fingers*)

The ticket gets you access to 5 party zones and a foam pool, all along the 1.2km of sandy beach as your dance floor. Pretty much like how most beach party works. Hehehe.

Here are some photos of past parties. I'm actually looking forward to the fireworks the most!

You can get the tickets at $68 ($10 off if you're Islander card member) and VIP at $98 (includes food, vip lounge and priority queue, available for purchase online).

Rich and Famous Lifestyle: Macau Casino Hotels

How do the rich and famous spend their money on their travels?

Indoor heated pool on your 40th floor suite? Automated self-lifting self-heating self-flushing toilet seats in your hotel room? Grand Piano next to the your walk-in wardrobe on the presidential suite?

Let's look at some of the hotels in Macau.

1. Hard Rock Hotel: Presidential Suite

Jacky Cheung stayed in this suite during his performance here; and the room was designed with his comfort and taste in mind. Other than the walk-in wardrobe, panaromic view in the master bedroom, and jacuzzi tub in the larger than life toilet, perhaps the most stunning element in the suite was the all-white grand piano, with its own city view; followed closely behind were the racing game chairs next to the living room.

side note: worthy to watch at the Hard Rock Hotel was this massive dome shape theatre where they showcase life-like show (we watched one that talked about dragons and the pearl) that made you felt like you're inside a fantasy world; almost 4D-like. It's worth paying the entry fee which was MOP50 per ticket if you're not a guest at the hotel.

this scene was especially heart-stopping: giant octopus enveloping the dome

2. Galaxy Macau

There are three hotels inside this development: Hotel Okura, Galaxy Hotel and Banyan Tree.

Frankly, Banyan Tree wins hands down on having the classiest and most expensive rooms. All their units come as suites and the most basic unit is equipped with stunning view of the garden and an indoor heated pool overlooking said stunning view. The hotel also comes with its own boutique spa centre.

Hotel Okura is specially designed to cater to Japanese, though most of their guests were mostly Chinese, Japanese who do visit Macau would find this hotel very pleasant with stay in. Features like automated self-lifting heated toilet seat would be one of them. The hotel also comes with a Japanese restaurant on a high floor with Japanese chefs and Japanese waitresses in kimonos.

Third hotel is the Galaxy Hotel, which has access to the wave pool (that looked like an artificial beach) and has rooms that cater to the lower range income group; lower, but not completely affordable.

Despite the high density of rooms available in this property, all the hotels are, at all times, 90% occupied. Which says a lot about the booming tourism industry in Macau. Rich and famous from mainland China would flock here to spend their wealth in the glitz and glamour.

Blackmores Collagen Review

This is going to be a long post. Because I am doing a proper review, so read on if you are interested in taking collagen or are already taking them but want to know how Blackmores Collagen fare in comparison to the other brands.

I have always strongly believed in taking supplements to keep ourselves looking youthful and radiant. Years ago I started taking collagen, initially in bottle form, not going to name the brand here but basically it wasn’t before long that I couldn’t handle the sweetness to be consumed on a daily basis over a long period of time. And I have a sweet tooth. That was why I had to throw half a year of supply away because I was procrastinating drinking it for so long that they all expired eventually. T_T

Few years down the road, I started taking collagen in its pure powder form (imported). I thought it was a brilliant idea, save for the fact that collagen is rather fishy on its own, so I would mix it with my breakfast (cereals, milo, juice). However, that lasted for a year and soon the habit died off because frankly I’m not really a breakfast person and the powder does change the taste of my milo. Three bags of premium quality collagen expired eventually. T___T

When I was offered Blackmores Collagen to try, I thought, why not, wouldn’t hurt to try.
And I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the taste was. It wasn’t super sweet, nor super sour like the other brands I’ve tasted, it was just nice.

While I’m not an expert on the science of food, these are my thoughts based on my knowledge on collagen drinks: products with no preservatives would have to resort to natural ingredients that has preservative characteristics; such as honey, sugar, or Vitamin E, or citric acid, etc. Sugar is the cheapest, and you would have to put a LOT of sugar to have a shelf-life of 1-2 years. Which would result in an extremely sweet concoction; i.e. my first bottled collagen experience. But too much on other ingredients won’t cover the fishy taste and/or will result in a rather sourish taste. And an unpleasant taste is difficult to consume over a long period of time.

I love how Blackmores uses more expensive ingredients such as grape seed extract, Vitamin E, citric acid to aid in natural preservation and maintain a balanced flavor on top of sugar instead of abusing  a single main ingredient (which could result in the drink being either too sweet or too sour or too fishy).

The second thing I love about the Blackmores Collagen was that it uses 10,000mg of collagen, a significant higher content of collagen than many other brands out there, but has better execution of ingredients (to preserve and cover the fishy taste) than other brands that use the equal amount of collagen.

A person needs a daily dose of 5,000mg of collagen a day, and at 10,000 mg it is sound advice to tell you to drink it once every two days. While I’ve seen other collagen brands with 10,000mg asking their consumers to drink it once every three days so to make it seem more worthwhile if you were to drink it monthly.
Again, this review is based entirely on my understanding on collagen and view of different types of collagen I have taken so far.

For me, this is a good product. Priced at RM159 for 10 bottles in a box which is affordable but definitely worth setting aside a budget for should you be serious about maintaining your youthful looks.

Blackmores Collagen 10,000mg is available in major pharmacies and Blackmores Concept Store (Klang Valley has one in Mid Valley, Queensbay Mall for Penang & Permaisuri Imperial City Mall in Miri, Sarawak).

Best of Macau Food in 24 hours

So you've landed in Macau, and you're not sure where to go for food. Sure you have internet and perhaps GPS (who doesn't these days) but with so many recommendations from the media on the greatest food you'll find in the finest restaurants Macau has to offer, where do you head to for the real authentic Macanese food?

Have no fear. I'm here to share. And you get to enjoy all of Macanese authentic goodness in less than 24 hours. Loosen those belts and here's my list of things to eat in Macau in 24 hours:

8:00am - Cafe Nam Ping (Sa-Yung)

You can start your day earlier if you wish because this small coffee shop opens really early and they serve these buns called Sa-Yung (沙翁) - buns made with egg coated in sugar. Basic but awesome with a good cup of coffee. It's legit authentic because you'll find lots of locals in this shop. Don't forget to order a freshly made egg sandwich (with or without char siew) to go with your sa-yung too. They're perhaps the fluffiest egg sandwich you'll try in a long time.

Cafe Nam Ping 南屏雅敘
54 Rua de Cinco de Outubro, Macau
新馬路十月初五街85-85A號地下
Tel: (853) 2892-1205
Operating Hours: 0630 to 1830 daily

10:00am - Cafe Seng Kei (Crock Coffee)

Who says you can't have two coffees in one morning. You're on a holiday. So strap on your boots as you make your way to the 3rd floor of the fresh produce market near Senado Square and enjoy a cup of genuine Macanese crock coffee. Don't forget to order lamb stew while you're at it at a nearby stall. But pace yourself as you still have all day, and night, to go.

Tel: (853) 6667-9695
Operating Hours: 0700 to 1800 daily

12:00pm - Belos Tempos Private Kitchen 老地方 (Portugese Food)

It's time for lunch. How can you come to Macau and not try Macanese version of Portugese food. Do order their Paozinho Recheado (免治炸包仔), Pasteis de Bacalhau (马介休球). Costoleta Panada (猪扒包) and Serradura (木榶布丁). In English, they're basically two starters, the famous Macanese pork chop bun and a whip cream pudding dessert with dusted biscuits.

Rua da Felicidade, n 10, Macau
澳门福隆新街10号
Tel: (853) 2893-8670
Operating Hours: 1200 - 2200 daily

2:15pm - Le Chinois Chinese Restaurant @ Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 (Mango Pudding)

Now is this an odd place (and a rather posh place) to try for authentic food but I assure you, you will not regret this. It's a brief swift-paced walk from Belos Tempos as they end their lunch service at 3pm. Of course, you're welcomed to order some dim sum (点心) should you still miraculously be hungry. If not I urge you to order what will be the best mango pudding you will ever have the luxury to savour. If you like soup, try their kung fu soup while you're at it. Points given to presentation and creativity. See it as a treat. *wink*

4:30pm - Lord Stow’s Bakery 安德魯餅店 (Portugese Egg Tart)

Take a cab and head over to the other side of Macau and visit the most famous branch of the famous Lord Stow's Bakery that sells that famous Portugese egg tarts in Macau. You may order boxes of these egg tarts and bring them with you on your flight home like all the other passengers would.

6:00pm - Taipa Village 氹仔 (Macanese snacks)

Not to far from Venetian Macau is the old street of Taipa, or called Taipa Old Village. After all the food, it's time to head down here for a stroll and do some souvenir shopping. But don't think your food tour ends here. This is the best place to sample all the best of Macau's titbits: almond cookies, pineapple pastries, beef and pork jerkies, egg rolls, etc.

7:30pm - Macau International Food Festival

If you're ever so lucky to be visiting Macau during their International Food Festival period (there's one every year around the month of November, do check Macau Tourism for info), do reserve all your dinner capacity for it. Located next to Macau Tower, hundreds of local food merchants set up their stalls in this massive food bazaar to bring out the unique food culture of Macau. There are various food zones catering to different genre of food, from Chinese, European, Asian, Local Macanese to Dessert. With so much to sample, you will need all night. Here are some bizarre food available there.

Frozen Top Kirin Beer

You can have your abalone with your Musang King durian cake.

Eel (Unagi Kabayaki) - There was a section dedicated to 25 Japanese stalls from all regions of Japan in their 14th Food Festival. Each of them as fine and authentic as the Japanese food in Japan.

Operating Hours; (Mon- Thurs) 1700 - 2300; (Fri - Sun) 1500-2400

**Should you not that the fortunate fate to stumble upon the Macau Food Festival dates, your next best thing is to stay back at Taipa Village and enjoy your dinner at one of the many available local restaurants there.

10:00pm - Leitaria I Son 義順牛奶公司 (doubled-boiled milk/milk pudding)

Assuming you stay near Senado Square, which really is the looking to explore the old town of Macau. After dinner, head back to Senado Square and end your night on a sweet note with this doubled-boiled milk 炖奶 (or you may call it milk pudding). You can have it warm (with or without ginger) or cold (plain or with red bean). They cost between MOP16-22 per bowl.

Night Stroll in Old Town of Macau

The day started as the sun set over the sea of clouds as we slowly descended into Macau International Airport. It was a good omen to the start of a promising trip, and perhaps one of the most beautiful sunset I've seen, at 30,000 feet in the sky.

trusty backpack and travel pillow

It was night time when we landed in Macau. We checked into Sofitel hotel after dinner which was located in the old town. We would soon discover the location supremely prime for tourists who wish to explore the real Macau, the old Macau before all its glitz and glamour of billion dollar hotels, casinos and its entertainment facilities.

I have not visited the city in 7 years, and strangely it had never occurred to me to revisit this place in this time frame. Knowing my last visit here consisted of escorts of 10 agent-like bodyguards and was ushered around the city as one of the finalists of a beauty pageant. Considering we spent most of our days in casinos and 'eating' expensive food we couldn't eat (it's a competition. hello? waistline?), it's hard to associate Macao with fun.

Which was why I never expected my trip to Macau this time to be so pleasant. No doubt they have endless amount of classy and premium hotels, but what caught my heart was the old town of Macau at night. It was like walking in Paris on a summer night: narrow lanes, small shops, orange street lights, the sense of safety that never existed in Kuala Lumpur day or night, drizzles that didn't bother anyone; it was incredibly romantic.

JQ and her tongue

We ended the night at a local eatery place serving double-boiled milk (炖奶), located next to Senado Square. I can't imagine what else it's called, it's nice though, it's a dessert that has the same texture of yoghurt without the sourness that can be served hot or cold. Sweet ending to our first night in Macau.

[Winter Look] Blonde Panda

I'm digging the blonde with black eyeliners and red lipstick look. When I had black hair, I always though red lipstick looked a bit tacky, but it's such an effortless look now that I have platinum blonde hair. Conceal and contour your face properly to achieve a porcelain look with precise and clean eye make up (lots of eyeliners) and bright red lipstick.

My Elsa Look from Frozen the Movie

Since I already had my hair blonde I thought it would really convenient to do an Elsa look. Red lipstick, nude make up with big dolly eyes with long lashes.

My hair wasn't that long at this point so a short ponytail would have to do.

L'Occitane and O'slee

Just a couple of weekends ago I decided to dress up and head out for an L'Occitane event since I do love their products and decided to check out their latest almond lotion collection.

I was blur max that day that I made it to the event after it has ended, mixing up the time of the event.
Fail max.

But still I managed to snap some photos of the pretty packagings (I do love their packaging) and tried out some testers so I know what to get when I finish my lotion next. (Which is proving a difficult feat since I have a lot of lotions, but never stopped me from buying them since I adore lotions and will eventually finish them).

Then just last week I went to another event, hosted at Seri Carcosa, and ended up there an hour too early and the event was delayed by two hours so I was just sitting there playing with my phone for a good two hours. Double fail.

At least it was a good opportunity to explore new beauty products. yay! Said beauty line was O'slee which is a Hong Kong brand brought into Malaysia about five years ago by this really young guy (currently in his 25th) who has the skin of a baby's bottom, not to mention unbearable good looks (no photo of him, sorry).  They dabble mostly with rosehip as the main ingredient which I fancy a lot since I depended on rosehip oil to remove scars which were left by injuries. (I'm clumsy that way)

I intend to use the ruby toner as a toner mask since my biggest concern has always been dehydration. It's only RM59.90 in guardian, pretty affordable to perform a toner mask routine.

[Black, White and Metal] Tweed Jacket and Striped Skirt

It has come to my attention, after being blonde for almost two years, that it is extremely easy to pair black with blonde hair, in fact nothing goes better than black outfit with hair of blonde. However it has become immensely difficult to pair with brown clothes.

SK-II Limited Edition Festive Collection

Finally got my hands on the new festive collection by SK-II. They always have a prettiest looking bottles for a skincare brand that it's such a shame I have to throw them out every time I finished using them.

It's that or I would have filled the toilet floor with bottles upon bottles of emptied SK-II products. But these bottles are so pretty I'd have a hard time using them. -_-

I don't think I can ever get enough of their FTE (Facial Treatment Essence). They're kinda pricey but I have never been able to find a replacement or anything better so I stuck with this brand and use it as a toner for the past 7 years now, admittedly, on and off. Since there were days when I couldn't afford it so I would use it little by little and switching it with other brands between bottles. But eventually I'd always come back to this. (I also almost always come back to their Signature Stempower as a moisturiser too)

75ml FTE. I bring this with me wherever I travel.

It has occurred to me that with age and wisdom I have grown to be more selective with my products and thus spending less and less on rubbish and more on the selected few premium items that I consistently use. I no longer splurge on budget clothings or shoes when I travel to Thailand or China, or even on drug store cosmetic products simply because they looked so pretty only to use the once and leave them forever in my drawer.

I still splurge, no doubt. Perhaps more tenaciously than in my youth, unfortunately. And on quality products which, more often than not, were more expensive as well. And I use them. So it's not really a waste and I'm treating myself and my skin right.

Perhaps it is time that I use these babies as a mask. Pour them onto a cotton pad till it's soaked through and then place them on my face for a deep treatment. What a sinful splurge which I'm sure my face will appreciate. Feeling giddy just thinking about it.

The Revival Deluxe Set is priced at RM1,094.

I got the Miracle in A Bottle set at RM565.

Aveda Invati

Who knew exploring beauty products can be this fun. This year I had the privilege to get to know two new friends via a trip and they both happened to be beauty bloggers.

I've always been big on beauty products, but it's not a passion most of my social friends possess. It's not once my peers wondered how I could manage to spend thousands in SaSa in Hong Kong/Macau, or go to a spa outlet or beauty shops and emerged with bags of lotions and bath salts. It's one of those guilty pleasure I took serious indulgence in.

It also made attending beauty events much more fun because I get to go to these events with people whom I know share the same interests as I. Which admittedly I almost never rsvp to most beauty events because, well, quite simply, it's lonely to attend such an event. It's lonelier when you bring new beauty products back and have no one to share them with.

Just last month I attended the Aveda Invati event and had the pleasure (yes, pleasure!) to learn about the products. The first thing I love about their products, which I never knew before, is that Aveda practises fair wages to its workers and farmers in India, uses only organic products harvested from farms, the same farms that give employments to local villagers. They pride themselves as an organisations that contributes back to the society and the world. Which is mission statement few organisations practise.

Skin Inc

I'm a HUGE sucker for packaging and good marketing. The first time I first knew about Skin Inc was through the many shares on Instagrams from various celebrities I follow. They were attending this massive Skin Inc launch in Singapore and looking at what people wrote and posted about the products, I was intrigued.

Then I went to a afternoon tea press event in Maison Francaise, KL and got to the know the products more. I fell in love with all the colors and the cute beads inside the serums and loved the concept, the effect the serum had on my skin (it was instantaneous) and especially love the sleeping mask.

The idea was to be able to customize your very own serum suited to your skin. There are 9 types of serums, each to their own functions such as hydration, repair, anti-aging, fight acnes, vitamin C, etc. If you're not sure you can always take the skin test on their site to know which products you should use.

The ultimate testimonial was when I met the 40 year old Singaporean CEO and founder of Skin Inc, Sabrina Tan (yay to Tan family!) to be this absolutely FIT and GORGEOUS trendy fashionable woman whom I would not have been able to guess her age.

Her face was so FLAWLESS! She claimed she used all 7 types of serums as her daily routine. Here's a photo I got off from Google Images.

O.M.G right?!

Though I walked away with a door gift. I thought my wallet's gonna pecah (break) because I'm definitely getting a few more to add to my serum bottle. Am contemplating to get the Superstar Holiday gift set since it has the sleeping mask I wanted, together with the revival peel, the set sells at RM313 for a RM415.30 worth of products. (will include photo of gift set below)

Each 10ml serum is priced at RM154. Get a set that comes with pre-selected three bottles of 10ml serums and 30ml mixer bottle; or choose a mixer bottle with the color of your choice and buy the individual serum bottles and combine.

Skin Inc is available at Sephora outlets in Malaysia.

Afternoon Tea in Orchid Conservatory at the Majestic Hotel

Since work is catching up, it only seems sensible that I dedicate equal of my time to catch up with friends (which usually consist of attending events and meeting them there).

This is as far as work hard play hard as I'll ever achieve. It's just isn't in my nature to party and drink all night long, but I do love the occasional mingle and social events, I love travel more but that requires more time away and less commitment to my work, which isn't possible at the moment.

I've been hesitant to associate this blog with my personal life, and yes, my work is my personal life even though I don't intentionally keep it as a public thing. But you'll be surprised how secretive you can keep private life so long as you don't share it on any social media platform. It's like people don't ask how one another is anymore (other than the usual courteous question when they're not sure how to greet you), it's just easier to read it on facebook, see it on instagram or await for people to blog about it.

We're living in a world there information comes to us. Gone were the days we have to flip through newspaper to read world news, or the days where we pick up a phone to see how a friend is doing. Heck we don't even pick up a phone anymore, there's always facebook chats and whatsapp. It just seems more convenient, less intrusive and it's FREE.

Some girlfriends and I decided to catch up over tea on Deepavali. None of us has never been to the Orchid Conservatory at the Majestic Hotel and the popularity of that place was soaring due to the amazing orchid backdrop photos that kept showing up on blogs and facebook these days.

Food was so-so, and for the price of RM100 per person, you have to share your tea set with someone else, which also meant sharing the same piece of cake and sandwiches; honestly I found that utterly stupid. Sharing is caring only if you don't have to slice an already tiny piece of triangle sandwich or tinier slice of cake with your friend.

Savoury options were mainly deep fries and sandwiches were bland. You only get to choose local Cameron Highland tea or coffee as part of the set. When I mentioned I was allergic to caffeine, they suggested I order a pot of tea (non-caffeine version) for myself, which when the bill came it was charged at the full rate of RM30 per pot. An utterly ridiculous price. They should have offered the option to switch the tea at an additional rate, not charging a full fare for a fresh pot. Not to mention my friend's coffee was so diluted, it's almost see-through.

Honestly, other than the beautiful orchids, I find no reason to spend so much to have tea in this place.

Guess Most Wanted

Been attending a few events lately, not something I would do usually but it has come to my attention lately that I should go out and socialise more.
It was getting too comfortable living the life of a hermit.
Besides, what better ways to meet some new and old friends and to check out the latest fashion line all in one.

I had a voucher to claim a pair of jeans from Guess some time back but never got the chance to visit a guess outlet, so since I was going to do it, I might as well attend an event hosted by Guess in the Pavilion Guess Jeans outlet.
So many birds with one stone.

They were throwing a selfie contest at the event too, three winners will receive up to RM1300 worth of prizes that consisted of Guess watch, Guess jeans and Dior products.
That's my kind of contest, no effort needed, it's what I do on most days anyways.

And yes, I won. Winning photo at the end of the post.

I arrived early so I decided to try out some clothes from the Guess new line. The spread was adorable but I didn't really try any of the food (hello, more important things to do, like trying out new clothes), I just wished they served water at the event instead of just beer and cola.

Seldom I see a female drummer, she was pretty awesome to me

my winning haul

It's quite a manly watch, I was quite worried it wasn't going to match but matched surprisingly well it did. I was going for this hipster look the other day and the watch completed the look so well. I have to do an ootd post soon. It's been too long.

Oh yea. My winning selfie pose. Enjoy.

SK-II Pitera House

A SK-II Pitera House was set up until the 14th of October this month in Publika where people can walk in to learn more about their skin and the skincare line's famous facial treatment essence. I am an avid user of the SK-II famous FTE (Facial Treatment Essence), mainly a ritual passed down by my mom.

Visitors were able to get a complimentary skin-check with SK-II's Magic Ring skin analysis device, which I've done it before about a year ago. Let me find the photo.

so many spots!

But if you missed the checking out the Pitera House, you can walk into a local SK-II counter to get your Magic Ring test too.

Here are some photos of the SK-II Pitera House.

LeBunny Bleu @ The Gardens Mall

This year is about work, work, work and very little play. Boo.

It was a choice I made so I'm not really complaining, but I do miss travelling, so bad.
Though I honestly should think of ways to make it work.

I did go on a media trip to Thailand which was nice. And another coming up to Macau.

But I probably have to cancel my three weeks Japan trip year end. Due. To. Work.
This sucks.
If only I could change the name of my flight but I bought it on a whim and they were promo tickets. So.. yea... burn, baby, burn!

Went to LeBunny Bleu last month in The Gardens. I've seen it several times but never got around to go inside. Turned out the shoes they offered were surprisingly affordable and generally very cute. Most feature their logo of a cheeky bunny peaking at you. If you're not a heel fan, this might be the place as they boast mostly flats. But they do suffer from insufficient sizes for feet like mine. Tall girl. Big feet.

Do you know I share the same feet size as JLo? *smug* And she's shorter. (yes I still refer her as JLo, it's easier)

Here's my visit.

I have a lot of shoes but this is my first pair of funky sneakers.

Chocolate Ville @ Bangkok

If you ran out of places to visit in Bangkok (yes it can happen), here's a place that guarantees heap loads of photo ops, good food and a romantic evening walk and dining experience with your love ones. Chocolate Ville is a newly built European-themed village that was launched in year 2011, able to cater up to 300 people at any given time (perhaps more).

Do not attempt this trip alone, you have been warned.

The downfall is that it's located slightly out of town, about 30 mins away from Bangkok city without traffic. The only way to get there is to hire a car or hop into a taxi, however, be sure to get a local taxi app (I suggest GrabATaxi / MyTeksi) to ensure your ride there and back because most taxi drivers in Bangkok are farmers from the countryside driving for extra income during the crop growing period, a.k.a. don't know their way around the city, least out of the city. If you're so lucky to get on a ride of an experienced Bangkok taxi driver that would lead you to the village direct, Chocolate Ville also offers to call you a taxi at no extra charges to get back into the city.

Food worthy of a try: pork knuckle, pork ribs & fried chicken.

Address: Chocolate Ville, Kaseth Nawamin 10230 Bangkok Thailand
Phone: +66 83 077 3738
Opening hours: 4pm - 12am daily

Signature by the Hill @ The Roof

Months ago I have set my mind to visit The Roof but work and busy schedule have gotten the better of me that I kept putting it off. Then came this month, an invitation came from Deep and coincidentally I saw an opening, immediately I rounded my girls and arranged a girly night out at Signature by the Hill - a gastro-lounge that's part of The Roof.

Sharing the same cocktail menu as The Pool (same founder), Signature serves up some pretty unique signature cocktails of theirs such as Milo Ais (with rum, baileys and kahlua), the famous Watermelon Slush (whole watermelon shell as a jug? bowl?)and Chocolate Martini.

Since yours truly has sworn off alcohol and has been sober for two years, I decided to order the Milo Ais, had a sip and then passed it along to my girlfriends to finish the deed.

Among the food I've tried, few stood out. Despite being the least enthusiastic fan to aglio olio, Signature did theirs pretty well. Al dente, well and thoroughly seasoned and the sauce that came in a pot on the side was divine. Not the healthiest dish but certainly a popular one. They managed their meatball pasta pretty well too, which has come to my attention that the chef knew his pasta and knew it well. Though oddly and surprisingly, my favourite dish had to be the Char Kuey Tiao. Perhaps the best Char Kuey Tiao I've ever tasted. It did come at a price of RM38 for what was supposed to be a street food dish, albeit served in a higher altitude area. On my more generous days, I would consider returning just for this dish alone.

We then adjourned to helipad (Stratosphere) at The Roof to enjoy the night view, some selfies (as girls often do) before retiring for the night.

Best Char Kuey Tiao, ever!
