[Winter Look] Blonde Panda

I'm digging the blonde with black eyeliners and red lipstick look. When I had black hair, I always though red lipstick looked a bit tacky, but it's such an effortless look now that I have platinum blonde hair. Conceal and contour your face properly to achieve a porcelain look with precise and clean eye make up (lots of eyeliners) and bright red lipstick.

My Elsa Look from Frozen the Movie

Since I already had my hair blonde I thought it would really convenient to do an Elsa look. Red lipstick, nude make up with big dolly eyes with long lashes.

My hair wasn't that long at this point so a short ponytail would have to do.

L'Occitane and O'slee

Just a couple of weekends ago I decided to dress up and head out for an L'Occitane event since I do love their products and decided to check out their latest almond lotion collection.

I was blur max that day that I made it to the event after it has ended, mixing up the time of the event.
Fail max.

But still I managed to snap some photos of the pretty packagings (I do love their packaging) and tried out some testers so I know what to get when I finish my lotion next. (Which is proving a difficult feat since I have a lot of lotions, but never stopped me from buying them since I adore lotions and will eventually finish them).

Then just last week I went to another event, hosted at Seri Carcosa, and ended up there an hour too early and the event was delayed by two hours so I was just sitting there playing with my phone for a good two hours. Double fail.

At least it was a good opportunity to explore new beauty products. yay! Said beauty line was O'slee which is a Hong Kong brand brought into Malaysia about five years ago by this really young guy (currently in his 25th) who has the skin of a baby's bottom, not to mention unbearable good looks (no photo of him, sorry).  They dabble mostly with rosehip as the main ingredient which I fancy a lot since I depended on rosehip oil to remove scars which were left by injuries. (I'm clumsy that way)

I intend to use the ruby toner as a toner mask since my biggest concern has always been dehydration. It's only RM59.90 in guardian, pretty affordable to perform a toner mask routine.

[Black, White and Metal] Tweed Jacket and Striped Skirt

It has come to my attention, after being blonde for almost two years, that it is extremely easy to pair black with blonde hair, in fact nothing goes better than black outfit with hair of blonde. However it has become immensely difficult to pair with brown clothes.

SK-II Limited Edition Festive Collection

Finally got my hands on the new festive collection by SK-II. They always have a prettiest looking bottles for a skincare brand that it's such a shame I have to throw them out every time I finished using them.

It's that or I would have filled the toilet floor with bottles upon bottles of emptied SK-II products. But these bottles are so pretty I'd have a hard time using them. -_-

I don't think I can ever get enough of their FTE (Facial Treatment Essence). They're kinda pricey but I have never been able to find a replacement or anything better so I stuck with this brand and use it as a toner for the past 7 years now, admittedly, on and off. Since there were days when I couldn't afford it so I would use it little by little and switching it with other brands between bottles. But eventually I'd always come back to this. (I also almost always come back to their Signature Stempower as a moisturiser too)

75ml FTE. I bring this with me wherever I travel.

It has occurred to me that with age and wisdom I have grown to be more selective with my products and thus spending less and less on rubbish and more on the selected few premium items that I consistently use. I no longer splurge on budget clothings or shoes when I travel to Thailand or China, or even on drug store cosmetic products simply because they looked so pretty only to use the once and leave them forever in my drawer.

I still splurge, no doubt. Perhaps more tenaciously than in my youth, unfortunately. And on quality products which, more often than not, were more expensive as well. And I use them. So it's not really a waste and I'm treating myself and my skin right.

Perhaps it is time that I use these babies as a mask. Pour them onto a cotton pad till it's soaked through and then place them on my face for a deep treatment. What a sinful splurge which I'm sure my face will appreciate. Feeling giddy just thinking about it.

Aveda Invati

Who knew exploring beauty products can be this fun. This year I had the privilege to get to know two new friends via a trip and they both happened to be beauty bloggers.

I've always been big on beauty products, but it's not a passion most of my social friends possess. It's not once my peers wondered how I could manage to spend thousands in SaSa in Hong Kong/Macau, or go to a spa outlet or beauty shops and emerged with bags of lotions and bath salts. It's one of those guilty pleasure I took serious indulgence in.

It also made attending beauty events much more fun because I get to go to these events with people whom I know share the same interests as I. Which admittedly I almost never rsvp to most beauty events because, well, quite simply, it's lonely to attend such an event. It's lonelier when you bring new beauty products back and have no one to share them with.

Just last month I attended the Aveda Invati event and had the pleasure (yes, pleasure!) to learn about the products. The first thing I love about their products, which I never knew before, is that Aveda practises fair wages to its workers and farmers in India, uses only organic products harvested from farms, the same farms that give employments to local villagers. They pride themselves as an organisations that contributes back to the society and the world. Which is mission statement few organisations practise.

Skin Inc

I'm a HUGE sucker for packaging and good marketing. The first time I first knew about Skin Inc was through the many shares on Instagrams from various celebrities I follow. They were attending this massive Skin Inc launch in Singapore and looking at what people wrote and posted about the products, I was intrigued.

Then I went to a afternoon tea press event in Maison Francaise, KL and got to the know the products more. I fell in love with all the colors and the cute beads inside the serums and loved the concept, the effect the serum had on my skin (it was instantaneous) and especially love the sleeping mask.

The idea was to be able to customize your very own serum suited to your skin. There are 9 types of serums, each to their own functions such as hydration, repair, anti-aging, fight acnes, vitamin C, etc. If you're not sure you can always take the skin test on their site to know which products you should use.

The ultimate testimonial was when I met the 40 year old Singaporean CEO and founder of Skin Inc, Sabrina Tan (yay to Tan family!) to be this absolutely FIT and GORGEOUS trendy fashionable woman whom I would not have been able to guess her age.

Her face was so FLAWLESS! She claimed she used all 7 types of serums as her daily routine. Here's a photo I got off from Google Images.

O.M.G right?!

Though I walked away with a door gift. I thought my wallet's gonna pecah (break) because I'm definitely getting a few more to add to my serum bottle. Am contemplating to get the Superstar Holiday gift set since it has the sleeping mask I wanted, together with the revival peel, the set sells at RM313 for a RM415.30 worth of products. (will include photo of gift set below)

Each 10ml serum is priced at RM154. Get a set that comes with pre-selected three bottles of 10ml serums and 30ml mixer bottle; or choose a mixer bottle with the color of your choice and buy the individual serum bottles and combine.

Skin Inc is available at Sephora outlets in Malaysia.
